Broadsands Beach in Paignton is in an idealistic rural setting, it is a red sandy beach which is between Goodrington and Brixham in Torbay, and has great views of Tor Bay, making it popular with locals and visitors. The beach is particular popular with families.
It's situated between rocky headlands, so is a safe area. There is also parkland next to the beach and a pay car park.
The beach has good facilities - food outlets, beach huts, pedalos hire and toilets. There is also a large grassed area adjacent to the Promenade. In fact a lot of people arrive here after walking the coast path from Goodrington, which has the most breathtaking views of the whole of Tor Bay.
The large parkland next to Broadsands has a scaled down golf course which is very popular in the summer with visitors and locals alike. Walking on through this parkland for about half a mile and you will arrive at Elbery Cove, a pebbled secluded beach surrounded by woodland.
The coast path from Elberry Cove carries on for about 2 miles through the woods before emerging at the edge of Brixham harbour, with it's imposing breakwater, and on into the centre of Brixham.
