There is a taxi rank directly outside Paignton railway station and across the road is the bus station.
Some trains stop at Newton Abbot railway station on their way to Plymouth and Cornwall, in which case it´s just a matter of changing to the local train to Paignton.
Lots of people now leave their cars at home and travel to their holiday destination by train, the rail journey is a nice relaxing way to beat the traffic jams.
Paignton railway station was built in 1859 with a single broad gauge track (approximately 7ft wide), but was converted to standard gauge in 1892.
